Nick's "dorky" luggage...
by brian @ 21:03:27 - [perma-link]...makes a great cooler. We're at the BMW bike rally (I drove my Defender following Nikki on her bike). We're camping tonight with our HUGE tent and air mattress. The mattress had a leak, but hopefully the duct tape patch will hold. |

Bike Nite
by brian @ 12:16:20 - [perma-link]Last night we went to, uh, some restaurant for Bike Nite. Or so we thought. Turns out they don't start until next week. At least the trip was fun. Connie rode her Triumph, Josh rode Connie's Ducati, and Nikki rode me on the back of her BMW. A little something for everyone. |

I don't think so...
by brian @ 21:51:18 - [perma-link]Today the heating guy installed the furnace for the bonus room above
the garage. At least he thinks he did. I think his idea of "tucked up
behind the large beam" is a little different than mine. My expectation
was that it would be, you know, UP and BEHIND the beam.
Instead, what we have is an eye sore, in more ways than one. In fact,
a similarly dangerous corner was what started this whole remodel in the
first place. The last thing I want to do is have a bunch of sharp,
metal lawsuits-waiting-to-happen installed.
And I didn't even notice the big fat pipe protruding through the wall
at some weird angle until just now. |

New skateboard
by brian @ 22:01:19 - [perma-link]I bought a new skateboard today. Connie got me the Sector 9 flex board (in the back there) a few months ago. I've ridden it, or at least tried, a couple of times, but as a complete beginner its a little, uh, twitchy. It'd be like trying to learn to drive in a Ferarri (or learning to ride a motorcycle on a Ducati 750 Monster Dark, but we'll probably get to that later). So today we went to the skate shop (Josh and I checked it out Monday, but it was closed) and got this green one. The guy at the shop did the racing stripe. I should be able to ride more comfortably on this one, and work my way back up to the Ferarri. |

Its not all bad...
by brian @ 22:14:26 - [perma-link]In fact the remodel is going really, really well. The sidewalk and patio are leveled and concrete will be poured tomorrow. The shop-side of the garage is framed. Plumbing is being roughed. The upstairs windows are mounted, and the shower is installed. Also note the cubbies in the corners for extra storage (instead of just dead space. woohoo!) |

What's better than steel-toed boots?
by brian @ 22:37:12 - [perma-link]Steel toes! Connie got some new nail polish. Its supposed to be chrome, but its not quite that shiny, and definitely not mirror-like. Maybe I need more calcium. (The red spot under the middle nail is just a scab from when i bashed it on something a few days ago... its not something gross.) |

Got my iTrip
by brian @ 14:21:41 - [perma-link]I pre-ordered this ages ago, and it finally arrived. The iTrip is an FM transmitter for the iPod. It gets power from the headphone jack, and its tuned by playing special mp3 files that came with it. Now I can carry 5G of music with me and listen in the car. No more endless repeating of my Fatboy Slim CD. Sweet. |
