Fixed Sidekick
by brian @ 15:43:22 - [perma-link]While crawling around the City Museum's "Monstrosity" (i think that's
the name), my Sidekick (in its carrying case) slipped off my pocket and
fell about 20 feet. It apparently landed on something sharp, because
there was a hole in the case, and a crack in the shell of the phone.
But it still worked. The next morning, I heard the "low battery" sound, so I plugged it in.
A few minutes later, I heard the sound again. Then again. Something
had broken in the fall, and it would no longer charge. Turns out its
that black box thing in the picture. The 2 contacts closest to the
outside had cracked. I soldered it back on, and now its all good.
Maybe I should sign up for phone insurance. |
