This one is MINE :D
by brian @ 23:37:20 - [perma-link]Connie has 3 bikes, so its about time I got one for myself!
(hmm.. maybe using captions from iPhoto wasn't the best idea. gonna have to find a way to improve that...)
First Look
yamaha,R5 350 twin 2 cycle motorcycle, bike is adult owned and in
exellant shape All original 350 twin two stroke .Fast and light. $575.
Picked it up with Josh's rack.
He finally got to use it for something other than carrying a bike
around to see if it worked.
Gauge cluster.
Headlight and shiny fender.
Clean oil tank
Engine looks good.
The engine runs well. It took a little bit to start at the guy's
house. He was jumping on the kicker with a big work boot, and almost
snapped off the rear foot peg. Josh stopped him and cranked it over a
little more nicely.
Twins?
My bike next to Nikki's R5.
Not quite...
Mine is basically stock, with bigger rear springs and a reupholstered
cushy seat. And we threw on a different handlebar.
Nikki's has a different taillight, upgraded pipes, a racing clutch,
drag bars, a larger front tire (thus no front fender) and a custom
paint job.
Cleans up real nice!
Josh, Connie and I polished most of it this afternoon. The wheels are
at the shop getting new tires.
The "other" side.
Almost every picture of an R5 I've found online is of this side of the
bike. But I had only taken shots of the other side so I couldn't
compare mine to other bikes on the net.
The pipes have lost a lot of chrome, and the rear fender is beat.
Neither of us noticed the fender's condition when we went to check it
out. The paintjob on the tank managed to get most of our attention.
I'll upgrade the pipes to some tuned ones once i learn how to ride, so
no big deal. I'll find a rear fender somewhere.
Shiny engine!
I don't mean to brag, but its pretty sweet! the cylinder needs a coat
of black. I'll shine up the last fin with my polisher/sander. And
there's still some dirt to wash away. But it does look good!
Can you tell I'm excited? |
