We're here.
by brian @ 00:38:16 - [perma-link]

After a long, long, delayed, long trip, we're finally at our new house
in Portland. The cats seem to be happy. Though after spending a couple
of nights in hotel rooms, they'd probably be happy anywhere.

We're on an air mattress tonight and tomorrow, until our stuff arrives
monday morning. At least we finally get to sleep in.

(there are more pics from the trip up, and I'll get to them soon..maybe
even one or two right now...)

Almost to Crescent City
by brian @ 01:17:45 - [perma-link]

We pulled over by the beach to stretch. Been on the road since about
5:30am.

Too much food.
by brian @ 21:10:59 - [perma-link]

But very tasty. We went out for Chinese, since our house is empty. Silly
me, thinking a bowl of soup and the chicken & veggie stir fry would be
enough food.

I was kind of right. It was enough. Enough for a family of 4. And Connie
ordered soup and another dish that ended up being soup-like. So we have
tons (literally) of leftovers, and no fridge. So we're off to the
grocery store for a cooler and some ice.

On the road
by brian @ 11:32:48 - [perma-link]

100 miles out. Elvis is asleep. It's raining. Fun.

Drug are bad, m'kay?
by brian @ 19:27:40 - [perma-link]

We gave the cats a sedative for the trip. They did NOT like it. They got
gorggy and quite pissed off. And maybe a little drowsy.

We ended up stranded* in Redding due to snow. Elvis wouldn't come out
from under the front seat, even after an hour of coaxing, in the rain.
We went shopping, then came back and he was finally out.

Now they're all in our hotel room. They're still a little H.I.G.Y., but
they're mosty back to normal.

We're NEVER going to do that again.

Tomorrow we're planning to take a 4 hour detour around the mountains, so
we don't get stuck again.

* we're stranded because I-5 is snowed and was going to open for chain
or snow tire traffic. The Defender was no problem. Kragen had chains
that will fit the Charger. But the M-3, with its 255/40R18s, apparently
doesn't DO chains (or so the kragen guy said, after calling
around...including a call to bnw in sactown).

Could it BE more empty in here?
by brian @ 11:50:08 - [perma-link]

I mean, how much more empty could it be? None. None more empty.

Tomorrow we're so outta here.

Waiting for the movers to finish
by brian @ 13:32:13 - [perma-link]

Everything is boxed and heading out the door. We're hanging out in the
"cat room" with the cats until the moving is all done. They're all tired
out after trying to get through the doors for a couple of hours.

PF Chang

Our next-to-the-last dinner in palo alto: PF Chang. Mmm mmmm good.

6 tacos and 2 large diet coke
by brian @ 12:20:53 - [perma-link]

$6.66. Hmm.

Our house is emptying, so we're resorting to Jack in the Box and
In-n-out Burger. Good times.
