Cleaning up for the visit
by brian @ 12:46:06 - [perma-link]

Ok, really its just and excuse to post pictures from my new higher res
phone camera.

One of the big-wigs from the contracting shop is coming to check out our
progress. He won some sort of remodelling award and they want some
pictures of him with a work-in-progress for a magazine spread. So
everyone is busy today cleaning up the dust and polishing their tools
(just kidding) to make the big mess look pretty.

But some good news: the garage and home theater/gym will be ready in a
month! The bad news to go with it: the rest of the project won't be
ready yet (but we kinda figured that).

Our first morning back home
by Connie__ @ 11:23:30 - [perma-link]

It's so nice to wake up in our own bed with our babies around us. Two
weeks away is way too long.

A storm rolled in for about an hour on our last day. It was cool as
hell.

More construction photos
by brian @ 18:10:00 - [perma-link]

Its been a while since we posted any progress.

Our fireplace has been re-faced. No more "70's brick". That wood
strip is a placeholder that will be replaced by a wood mantle at
some point. We also got a new kitchen door (the old one was pretty
thin, and didn't seal well), and there's been a lot of progress on
the sunroom.

Tomorrow the A/C is supposed to working again, so we can move back
into our house.

Daisy's pop-culture
by brian @ 15:00:35 - [perma-link]

I took daisy for a walk for about an hour and a half. When we got back
to the hotel, there was like 15 people waiting for the elevator
(bell-hop said he thought they were from the Blind Date TV show), so we
walked back out and around the block to the park (ie. the dog
facilities)

Of course, Daisy wouldn't go there. She paced around frantically until I
got bored and gave up. Then she stops to poop on the sidewalk, a few
squares from the hotel door. I had a bag (of course), and picked it up
(like a good dog owner), and walked up a block to the trash.

Now we're (finally) back in the room and she's curled up inside her
Spongebob blanket.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Brian's birthday boat. We are going to have so much fun with this
baby. I love you sweet baby.

Good dog, bad dog
by brian @ 17:28:44 - [perma-link]

Yeah. That's a hotdog. A big one.

Daisy and another Min-pin
by brian @ 21:09:42 - [perma-link]

I didn't catch this little guy's name, but Daisy and I bumped into him
(and his owner) on Hawthorne yesterday. Its not obvious from this
picture, but she's much bigger than he is, and he's 9 months old (Daisy
is 6 months). So apparently she's pretty big for her breed.

Connie's Room-service Code
by brian @ 22:21:24 - [perma-link]

In the past (and the first day in this hotel this "trip"), we had
trouble getting our breakfast order right when hanging it on the door.
The form isn't very multi-user friendly.

Connie tried this "code" out. And they got it right. Even the juices
were on the right trays.

Not what i expected to see...
by brian @ 22:23:46 - [perma-link]

While channel surfing (i miss my ReplayTV!) today I noticed this
real-estate informercial. I don't think I can say anything else
without offending anyone.
