So on my Defender, you close the flip-up window, then swing the door
closed. The Excursion, apparently, works the opposite way.
We're spending a bit longer than we expected in San Francisco.

The wouldn't give us another Excursion, since they don't do one-way
rentals on those. I'm not sure how they'll deal with the one
inadvertently moved to California, but whatever. Now we have a mini-van.

Daisy's fort

Daisy built a fort out of all the pillows on the bed. She ran around
with 2 other dogs this evening, so she's pretty tired. She's been camped
out in there for a couple of hours.

Schwarzenegger following Reagan's footsteps?

Daisy got stung by a bee or something on her cheek. She's a bit swollen
but otherwise seems OK. The vet said to give her some benadryl and
she'll be just fine.

Yesterday we stopped at a rest area near Eureka. This sign was outside
the bathroom. I thought it was kinda funny.

We had this wine at an Italian place near our house. It was good, so I
took a picture so we didn't forget what it was.

Big and black

We rented and Excursion to drive some stuff down to California and bring
stuff back up from our loft. Its a pretty nice ride, and surprisingly
easy to drive, given how ridiculously huge it is. It drives like a
really, really, really big car.
On the downside, Hertz did a really crappy job of cleaning it. There's
candy wrappers and sticky drops of soda and dried mud inside the door
sills. Its not totally gross, and we don't have time to swap vehicles,
but still they should have done a better job of cleaning it.

The kids are hanging out in bed with me for a little while. I'm
waiting for my nose to clear up and they are keeping me company. We're
watching Spongebob of course.
