Sweet BMW

The moron at Starbucks

I've been sitting in Starbucks while Connie is shopping. The guys at the
next table have been talking the whole time.
First the one guy was complaining about "kids today" and how they want
anarchy and think they know all the answer, yet they don't know anything
about foreign policy (neither does our president, dude), how to run a
business (cuz that's SO important), or economics.
Then they moved on to selling stock. "If you buy 5,000 shares and it
goes up $5, you make $25,000. And all you need is $24; 12 to buy and 12
to sell." Yeah, buddy! I think you're onto something. I mean, if there's
anything we've learned over the last 5 years its that the stock market
is totally risk-free, and stocks always go up, right? How's that $12
gonna help you if you $5000 shares go down, say 1 cent? Moron.
They just moved on to real estate schemes. But kids today don't know
anything. I'm outta here.

Xbox Linux

I bought an Xbox the other day to run linux. I'll mainly run MythTV or
some sort of media viewer.
I got Gentoox (gentoo linux for xbox) running today.

Microscope

I found miXscope, a program that lets me use my Intel QX3 microscope to
my iMac and capture pictures. This is my Apple Cimena Display at 200x.
The other is the head of a match at 200x.
It needs more light...

New glasses

Connie and I got new glasses today. Daisy ate mine about a week ago (I
heard her under the bed crunching something...turned out to be one of
the lenses!), though the prescription was pretty old. I got these black
ones with aluminum ear thingawhosies, and some cool nike glasses made of
Flexon memory metal... I can bed them all up and they won't break.
And I have a 1 year warranty, in case Daisy gets a hold of them.

this isn't the first time I've been a hypocrite, and probably won't be
the last. Anyway...)
I "finally" broke down yesterday and joined <a
href=http://www.orkut.com>Orkut</a>. In case you don't care, its yet
another stupid social networking sites where you can earn bragging
rights over how many people you know. Right now I apparently know
20,905 people through my 2 friends. Make that 3 (I just added qarl.. i
felt guilty since he actually sent me my first orkut invitation, but I
didn't feel like signing up again. that's how most of this stuff
works... declining an invitation is equivalent to shouting "I hate
you!" in cyberspace. Its brilliant marketing... if you don't play,
you're an antisocial loser, and who wants to publicize that?)
Anyway, my orkut password is "qwerty". Its in my profile. I wonder
what will happen.

Can you pick up Mars with that thing?

The car in front of me has the mmost ridiculous fake cellular antenna
I've ever seen. I mean, it must be fake, since "car phones" went out in
the 80s, right? In case the pic doesn't show, its one of those spirally
things, with port- and starboard-attachments.

New Paintjob

I bought an XMOD RC car from Rado Shack the other day. They're pretty
cool, but the yellow wasn't working for me on the Skyline. So I picked
up a set of Krylon Mystique color-changing paint.
I've only done the basecoat so far (after masking the windows and
lights, and sanding down the surfaces). It should look killer when its
done.

My Patriotic Desktop

paint. Its killer. But inow I have a stupid red, white and
