	Nice purse, dork! by brian @ 11:58:39 - [perma-link] I can almost understand this guy carrying his wife/girlfriend's purse for convenience when they were walking together. Almost. BUT, I'm pretty sure she's at the bar around the corner, and he just walked down here to check his spot on the list, solo, carrying that cute little gold handbag. I don't get it. Is he worried that if he doesn't hold her bag hostage she's gonna leave?

movie (click to play)	VW Show at PIR by brian @ 03:41:44 - [perma-link] Josh, Niko and I went down to the VW show at Portland Raceway today. I checked out the swap meet with the goal of finding hubcaps, and (as you saw in the blurry photo earlier) I found them. We watched a few rounds of the drag races, including a couple of passes (well, almost) by the little guy on that reality show that I'm gonna have to start watching now. He had a slow first pass, then blew a gear or something in the second (the one in the video). Josh thinks maybe he was using a short shift kit and thrashed the gears. I really should be asleep already, but my parents are coming to visit tomorrow so I had to clean up. And, uh, post this movie.

	Good Boy, Flash! by brian @ 12:25:30 - [perma-link] We walked up to Grand Central Bakery this...uh.. Afternoon. Flash is being a good boy wating outside and he's getting all kinds of attention from people passing by.
	Making the Vanagon Even Cooler with A/C by brian @ 12:25:49 - [perma-link] I found someone selling the Vanagon air conditioning setup on craigslist, so I bought it. The pieces are pretty big, so rather tan store them on the floor I went ahead and installed what I have so far. I can do all the connections with it already up. That is after I go pick up the rest of the parts I forgot yesterday. Oops. The guy has 6 vanagons parked outside his custom shoji screen shop. It was like driving up to a Vanagon car show or something. He also told me about the Bug-in VW show at PIR tomorrowM swap meet, drags, and show&shine. I'll go check out the swap meet and get some hubcaps and whatever else looks cool.
movie (click to play)	Picking up Parts by brian @ 15:40:05 - [perma-link] I picked up the remainder of the A/C parts this afternoon (the air channel that brings the cold air from the evaporator in the back to the vents at the front... you know, nothing important ;) and did another timelapse. I rigged up a real mess to hold the phone sideways, but I'll just put up with it for now. I'll be installing a Mac Mini in the van with multiple cameras when the parts arrive in a week or so. Then it's going to be much more fun.

movie (click to play)	Back from the Beach by brian @ 13:24:03 - [perma-link] Last week Randy visited and told me how he used his camera to do a time lapse of his drive across the country. That inspired me to do the same. I found CoolCamera for my Windows Mobile phone, and set it up on the dash on the drive back from Cannon Beach. I think I snapped these at a 5 second interval which was just about right for the 1.5 hour drive. I'll do more of these for sure.

	Finally Finished the Table by brian @ 10:19:54 - [perma-link] Remember this thing? I posted about it back in November when I built it. I finally found some casters I like, and glued the border pieces. A 4x8 table on wheels is way more convenient than without. Two of the old tables are stacked on the bottom. Maybe in another 6 months I'll have them back up on sturdier legs.
	Sun Shades for the Vanagon by brian @ 16:50:02 - [perma-link] Bus Depot was sold out of the insulated sunshade kit for the Vanagon, so I made my own from a bunch of cheap shades from GI Joes. I have suction cups pushed through duct-tape button holes. This is the first time I've used them, and I hope they work!

	Skatepark in Reedsport by brian @ 17:01:28 - [perma-link] Flash and I turned off of 101 in Reedsport where we saw this skatepark. There were a lot of skaters, but most of them were just kind of standing around. Flash played with a big dog for a bit, then we continued on our way home.
