Bay-area Bound
by brian @ 10:19:42 - [perma-link]

We're off to SF, this time without a 2 hour wait. And it figures the one
time we cut it close, we make a wrong turn, get a parking shuttle that
makes 20 stops, and have to send our bags through "additional
security."

Good thing Alaska Air can't get this flight out of the gate on time.
Ever. Today its only 15 minutes late, which beats the hizzell out of the
hour and a half bonus wait last time.

I wonder how many F-18s we'll see taking off today.

We're not talking peanuts!
by brian @ 11:48:36 - [perma-link]

The in-flight snack: chips and salsa. This flight continues to Mexico,
so, uh, I guess it makes sense.

Happy birthday, qarl
by brian @ 22:01:52 - [perma-link]

We surprised karl by showing up in LA for his birthday dinner. Drake's.
Some steak place. I ordered mine "blue" which, apparently, is below
rare. Bring it.

Afterburner kit
by brian @ 18:31:58 - [perma-link]

I finally installed the Afterburner kit in my Gameboy. It is
awesome. I can now play games without having to contort myself so it can
get a good reflection from surrounding lights.

This is so much better than any other add-on light, though it did take
me a couple of hours to install, and I did manage to get a fair amount
of dust inside. I'll take care of the dust soon enough.

As added incentive to install it, I bought Mario Kart today. I'll take
it with me on the plane and see if I can dominate like on the N64 and
crash bandicoot racing.

Strike while the iron is hot
by brian @ 19:25:12 - [perma-link]

Soldering iron, that is.

While it had it out, I hacked a power plug onto the end of the sidekick
usb cable, then taped the power plug to the usb plug. Now I can charge
my phone from a usb port. Next I'll rig up a little daemon, so my email
won't forward to my sidekick if its plugged into my laptop.

And to round out the geek day
by brian @ 19:30:01 - [perma-link]

Cold pizza. Cold because I was downstairs building that cable instead of
up here eating while it was still warm.

Reaching new heights
by brian @ 20:16:07 - [perma-link]

Or lows, you decide.

The Red Robin tower of onion rings. I'm speechless (tho perhaps because
my mouth is full).

Copycats!!!
by brian @ 20:32:44 - [perma-link]

They got the onion tower thing, too. Hey! Another one just went by.

Painting
by brian @ 14:13:04 - [perma-link]

We're painting our livingroom in Restoration Hardware Latte (Connie's
favorite). Yesterday we spent all friggin' day taping and putiing primer
over the lame dark purple that was in here. The painting is going much
quicker.

It is so much brighter in here now. I like it a lot.

Hey Brian and Erin!
by brian @ 00:28:27 - [perma-link]

I just hung your painting in the movie room. We're probably going to
paint the room in a dark blue, so it will look very cool.
